José Ramón Valente Vias

José Ramón Valente Vías (Santiago, September 15, 1962) is an economist from the University of Chile (1985) and MBA from the University of Chicago (1988). He has been an advisor and director of Chilean and foreign companies, as well as a columnist in various media. He was an academic of Economics and International Finance, at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Chile and professor of the Gabriela Mistral University. In the last two decades he has actively participated in public policy discussions regarding the economy and especially the capital market. Advised the governments of presidents Eduardo Frei and Ricardo Lagos on reforms to the capital market. He was a consultant for the Inter-American Investment Corporation of the IDB and director of the SEP, Public Companies System of the holding company of the State, between 2012 and 2014. José Ramón Valente has expressed his economic and social vision in some publications as author and co- author of the books: "The 4 long years of the New Majority" (2017) "The Rebellion of the Common Sense" (2015) and "The Story of a Dream" (2011).
